Time: anything worth doing takes time. If we can apply this as a filter to most of the activities and actions we perform during the day, then maybe we can get a hint at what matters for us. Maybe those things take time so we have the opportunity again and again to come back to feeling the pleasure in doing them instead of rushing through them.

Gratitude is the act of remembering. Today I remember that my eyes and my hands are in good working condition and they support me in my creative expression through sewing.
The stars in me salutes the stars in you. We all have a warm light within, a place where our North Star resides, no matter how dim. I get in touch with this sacred space every time I remember to be kind with myself. When the voices in my head tell me stories of guilt, of fear, of anger or hurt, I can chose to ride them - and in doing so resist them - or I can chose to be kind to myself and and greet them knowing that I am always safe in that sacred space.
This is the place where I write to figure out this thing called “life”. If in the process of reading me you feel a greater sense of connection or just a little less lonely, then this is the cherry on top of my cake. I write because it allows me to gain clarity and granularity in my own thinking. It is how I make sense of the world around me, of the events that surprise me, and the ones that challenge me. In short, I write because I am.
My interests are mainly around the theme of learning and growth as I keep on stretching myself in many directions. To date I have worn many labels: some are ongoing, some have been filed away and some are teasing me in the distance. One string connects them all: curiosity. I put my energy and interest into the following areas: mainly sewing but also reading, traveling, writing photography and baking. Putting my energy and interest into something does not, by all means, translate into me being good at any of it. It means this is what speaks to me. Also, I have a ton of Admin to take care of. I so passionately hate it that I have become a fantastic procrastinator. That being said, there should be no posts about Admin., unless I ever manage to find its silver lining. In which case I promise to share it! With this blog, I hope to create a memento for my family. It is in here that I will share the thoughts and learnings that I wish to commit to my memory wall.. Since I’m a great starter, less of a finisher... unsure how long I can keep up with this venture... knowing that I will only write now and then, about this and that; a bit in the manner of a patchwork. Let’s see... Before i move any further, and for the purpose of my safety, it is kindly recommended that you crank-up the volume on your heart knob - this should instantly deactivate the judgement switch located in the top part of your brain. Now I feel safe ;) Welcome to my blog. |
